Rider Resources · Buying a motorcycle
You don’t need to have it all figured out before you walk in. Bring a budget, an idea of how you want to ride and a few bikes you like. We’ll help you sort through the choices.
Weekend backroads? A daily commute? A short ride to grab coffee? Start there. Add the highway miles, luggage, parking space and passenger plans that are actually part of your life.
Tell us what you have ridden before, too—even if the answer is nothing yet. A hands-on rider course is a useful place to begin. You can learn about the controls and your own comfort level before getting attached to one particular bike.
A bike can look perfect in a photo and feel completely different once you are sitting on it. With staff helping and the motorcycle supported, check your reach to the ground, bars, clutch and brake. Notice if your knees feel cramped or you are stretching for the controls.
Think about backing it out of your parking spot and moving it around the garage. Seat height, weight and engine size are useful numbers, but they cannot tell you how the whole bike fits. If it feels like too much to manage, say so. That helps us find a better option.
The bike is the fun part of the budget. Make room for the rest before you spend it all.
If you are financing, compare the APR, amount financed, term and total payments. Keep the down payment consistent between quotes. A monthly payment that fits is useful; knowing the full cost is just as useful.
On a new motorcycle, check the exact trim, equipment and written warranty terms. With a pre-owned one, talk through its condition, modifications, available service records and upcoming maintenance. Compare the complete costs, not just the advertised prices.
At Pags, our pre-owned motorcycles receive a multi-point inspection and the work they need before handover so they are ready to ride. You also have our Sales, Parts and Service teams to come back to. Read why buy pre-owned from Pags for more about that relationship.
Save a few Pags listings and tell us what caught your eye. You might like the riding position on one, the price of another or just want to know what the difference is. That gives our sales team a useful place to start.
Come see us on Route 309 in Coopersburg or call 610-282-4800. If the right bike is not on our floor, we can help you look for it. Start with the current listings for model, equipment, condition and availability.
